Summary: College saw increased retention and completion rates as a result of proper resources and care for students.

With three social workers, robust emergency aid support from the AC Foundation, community supporters and an entire college committed to a culture of caring, over 3,000 students were served in one year. AC literally, systemically, thoughtfully and intentionally loved students to success." (Lowery-Hart 1). 

"In five years, AC has seen a 75% growth rate in fi rst-generation students graduating with a degree/certifi cate (21% growth rate in transfer) and a 64% growth rate in Pell students graduating (29% growth rate in transfer). AC course success rates (A-C pass rates) have increased 110% for Hispanic students, 112% for African American students and 108% for all students." (Lowery-Hart 1).

Rising costs of college have become customary and expected with the current educational demand. Kristin Blagg is a senior research associate and has performed research  on K–12 and postsecondary education and has studies on student transportation and school choice, student loans, and the role of information in higher education.
